Oukitel OK6000 Plus: A 6000mAh Battery, But Is it Worth It?

Oukitel entered the world of telephony in 2015, launching their first smartphone with a 10000 mAh battery: the Oukitel K1000.

And for the last three years, Oukitel has continued to produce phones with 10000 mAh batteries with similarly unoriginal names: K10, K10000 Pro, K10000 Mix, and K1000 Max.

So, we know what to expect from this OK6000 Plus: a 6000 mAh battery. As for the other features, there does not seem to be much difference from the first phone in this series (K6000). So, let’s try to find out what Oukitel OK6000 Plus offers, in addition to the battery. At the end of the review you will also find a comparison with the other models in the K6000 series.

It’s a typical Oukitel box; black with a gold logo on the front:

Inside the box, you find:

  • Oukitel OK6000 Plus
  • User manual (in English)
  • OTG cable
  • Power supply
  • Screen protector
  • Silicone case
  • SIM needle
  • USB cable

There are plenty of accessories, albeit of relatively low build quality. The OTG cable is very useful to turn our OK6000 Plus into a power bank, capable of charging other devices.

All the smartphones on the market seem more or less similar to each other. The Oukitel K6000 is no exception, and our black version looks very much like the Xiaomi Redmi 4, especially at the front:

The materials used are plastic, aluminium along the edges and Ashai 2.5D Glass for the front panel. The central home button is also the fingerprint sensor.

The K6000 Plus has an unusual back cover, with a square-shaped camera at the top, which is flanked by the flash.

On the right we have the on / off button and volume control; on the left, the SIM slot that can accommodate two Nano SIMs (Dual SIM-Dual Standby) or a Nano SIM and a memory card. At the top, Oukitel has left room for the 3.5mm audio jack, and at the bottom you can find the USB connector.

The OK6000 Plus is 9.6 mm thick and weighs 207g. There are three colours available: black, grey and champagne.

The Oukitel OK6000 Plus has a 5.5-inch diagonal display, FHD resolution and a pixel density per inch of 401. These are the standard specifications for smartphones in this price range, but it’s still fine for 2018.

The screen supports MiraVision technology (white balance and other image settings). The maximum brightness is average: the image is visible on a sunny day, but readability is reduced.

The colour rendering is good, saturation is moderate – the colours aren’t unnatural or unpleasant. Overall, nothing is exceptional, but it’s all satisfactory.

Hardware and Performance

The Oukitel OK6000 Plus has an Octa-core MediaTek MT6750T processor (4 coreCortex A53 1.5 GHz, quadcore at 1.0 GHz). As for memory, we have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB (about 53 GB effective) of storage space, which can be increased up to 128 GB with an SD card . Graphics management is entrusted to ARM Mali-T860 MP2 with 2-Core and 650MHz clock. These are the results of the benchmark tests:

In terms of performance, the specifications of this OK6000 Plus are far from the best, but for daily use they are sufficient. The smartphone safely tackles all 3D games on medium settings. At the same time, there is some overheatinag, which shows that this is definitely not a powerful device – rather, a cheap phone for everyday use.

Here are all the details on the system, CPU, network, sensors, OS and battery:

The Oukitel OK6000 Plus works on Android 7.0 Nougat with a slightly modified user interface. It has an integrated GPS receiver, an FM radio receiver and is compatible with 3G and 4G.

These bands are available:

2G: GSM 1800 MHz, GSM 1900 MHz, GSM 850 MHz, GSM 900 MHz

3G: WCDMA B2 1900 MHz, WCDMA B4 1700 MHz, WCDMA B5 850 MHz

The Oukitel OK6000 Plus is equipped with two cameras: the main one, on the back, is a 16MP camera with f / 2.0 aperture, a pixel size of 1.0 μm and picture dimensions of 4619 x 3464.

Details and color rendering are acceptable during the day, provided you allow a few seconds fpr the phone to focus. In low light conditions, however, the quality of the shots is very bad, even with the flash; look at the last two photos taken inside with our OK6000 Plus:

The front camera has a resolution of 8 MP and takes medium-quality photos with average detail levels.

The Oukitel OK6000 Plus is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 6080 mAh, produced by a well-known company (SCUD Battery Co. Ltd). The smartphone supports MediaTek Pump Express Plus fast charge technology, which allows you to charge from 0% to 100% in just 1 hour 40 minutes.

For comparison, when using a conventional charger, this process takes about 3 hours.

So, how about the most interesting thing: the battery life? The Oukitel OK6000 Plus, when put through normal usage: Internet, calls, instant messaging etc., with 50% screen brightness, can last for 3 days.

If you watch YouTube videos continuously with 75% brightness via the mobile network, the battery life is 13-14 hours. Loaded to the maximum, when a resource-intensive 3D game is running and the screen brightness is 100%, the smartphone will work for around 7 hours.

The Oukitel OK6000 Plus can also be used to charge other devices, such as an external battery. In the package, you get the OTG cable for connection.
