Huawei Honor 8X Unveils with an Impressive Design and Smart Features

Huawei’s line of Honor series phones seems to be at its peak moments. Barely a week ago it dispatched Huawei Honor play which was a win for the gaming community at an entirely fair price. This week, the Chinese tech player unveiled Huawei Honor 8X which will ship alongside with Honor 8X Max.

The two new Honor phones come at a time when the smartphone ecosystem is experiencing great developments and discoveries, for example, the sliding interface where end consumers can literally slide the moving parts on their phones in order to use certain aspects of their phones, which by the way we will also see in Honor Magic 2 come November.

Huawei Honor Magic 2 will be among the first phones to feature a sliding interface where you can literally pull down your screen and use the cameras and other specs are hidden in the moving parts.

Huawei Honor 8X will feature a 6.5-inch IPS LCD Full HD screen with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Honor 8X Max, on the other hand, sports a 7.12″ screen which makes it suit to be classified as a small tablet. There is a tiny notch at the top front part of the phone which hosts a 16MP Selfie camera, and Huawei contracted the bezels uniquely to achieve maximum edge-to-edge display.

As has been the trend with Huawei, the company mainly depends on and brags about its own Kirin chipset for its smartphones, unlike the other Chinese mobile vendors who rely on either Qualcomm or Taiwanese semiconductor firms for chipsets. Huawei Honor 8X integrates Hisilicon Kirin 710 chipset which couples with Android 8.1 Oreo for excellent software performance and speedy multitasking.

Both Huawei Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max are upgrades of last year’s Honor 7X but more massive in terms of screen configurations and have livelier features. Contrarily the new devices maintain the micro USB in 2018! The dual rear cameras with depth sensors and the fingerprint sensor too are nothing different from the predecessor’s. Another edge over the Honor 7X is faster internet speeds and more advanced connectivities.

Honor 8X price will be around 254 US dollars while 8X Max might go for about $263, which are relatively cheap price segments for the handsome specs that come with these models. The release date for both Honor 8X new arrivals was September 5th and will start retailing outside of China by end of this month.
