Xiaomi Mi 9 may be the First Smartphone to come with Snapdragon 8150
Rumors also indicate a three-camera device and 10GB version of RAM
Maybe it’s too early to talk about the future Xiaomi Mi 9, or perhaps not because the company does not seem to spend more than a year’s time from a top-of-the-range device to another. Mi Mix 3 that has seen the light after about 6 months from the presentation of the Mi Mix 2S, and so here are the first rumors emerge regarding their Xiaomi’s next year flagship Mi 9.
According to the latest rumors, GizChina has reported the future Chinese flagship will arrive in the first half of 2019 and will be equipped with the latest Qualcomm SoC, the Snapdragon 8150 (also known as 855), which will be launched in December, achieved through the construction process at 7 nm. Xiaomi Mi 9 therefore, according to the Chinese source, will be the first smartphone to boast Qualcomm’s high-end processor to which will be added cuts of RAM from 6/8/10 GB.
But the news on Mi 9 will not be limited to the processor, as the device of the Chinese company, seems to want to chase the fashion that sees more cameras, exactly three that will embellish the back of the terminal. It would be equipped by Sony IMX586 main sensor with 48 megapixels. In addition, the impression ID sensor will be housed in the display which should be of the OLED type, as seen on the recent top of the Xiaomi range. Of course, there will also be a wireless recharge that has only been seen so far on Mi Mix 2S and Mi Mix 3.
For those who do not know, Qualcomm is about to announce the new Snapdragon 8150 Elite processor, formerly known as Snapdragon 855. Promising performance out of the ordinary, this processor is made on a 7-nanometer process. Besides, it will also feature a separate neural processor for an artificial intelligence system.
