Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth is Arriving on September 19
We are just days away from knowing the Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition, the most powerful mobile version of the brand adapted to young people.
A few days ago, leaked information came out that Xiaomi was preparing two new devices within its Mi 8 family. One of them was very similar to the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition while the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE. clearly inspired another Now, we have new data of this second model, which will be known as Xiaomi MI 8 Youth.
Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth is shown in three new presumed press images that allow us to take a first look at the mid-range of the Xiaomi house that will be presented on September 19th.
As we can see, Mi 8 Youth presents some aesthetic differences with respect to the Mi 8, among which the different orientation of the dual rear camera and a notch of smaller size stands out, probably due to the removal of the infrared sensor.
Now, Xiaomi has released a short video of Mi 8 Youth on Weibo, a light version of the cheaper Mi 8 Classic. The new teaser video shows an electric blue color, with a vertical iridescence that gives it a family look with the Honor 9 or even the Honor 10 “Phantom Blue.”
Unlike the Honor 9, however, it seems to have a glass back, which should allow it to be compatible with wireless charging. Xiaomi confirmed the existence of this version for young people and showed the passage another “Twilight Gold” color. One can see some design differences compared to the classic Mi 8 and Explorer Edition: the dual photosensor is horizontal and not vertical, and it has a fingerprint sensor on the back.
Thanks to the recent TENAA certification, the technical specifications have already emerged, which would suggest a cheaper version of the Mi 8 equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC and a display of the same dimensions. It will have a 6.26-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution with 2,280 x 1,080 pixels, animated by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset and supported by 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM.
