Which are the Best Smartphones of February 2019?

As a category in itself, smartphones combine relatively compact size with an exceptional functional richness for communication, work, and leisure.

By brewing many uses, the smartphone has definitely established itself in our daily lives. It remains to determine which is the best smartphone according to your budget or according to your needs.

Because besides the criteria that can make the difference as the photo capture, the size of the phone or the size of the screen, the price of the smartphone is often the element that conditions the purchase. And on the price argument, the lines have moved well in recent years.

Thus in 2019, it is possible to acquire a mid-range smartphone at less than €350 which will do the job perfectly. Understand that it will capture beautiful photos and videos, offer a reassuring finish and will perform well enough to deliver a user experience without slowing down.

What remains then to the more upscale smartphones at €600 is over? They offer aesthetic refinements and a perceived quality much more rewarding, photo/video skills that hunt on the land cameras, but also very high definition screens and outstanding performance.

Here is our selection of the best smartphones of the moment, those that offer the best performance or the best quality and price ratio.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9

With its Galaxy Note 9, Samsung has not been crazy. It is a summary of all the know-how that the Korean firm has acquired over the past two years, the stylus and more.

Samsung Galaxy Note9

It gains this year Bluetooth connectivity, in particular, to use as a remote control for your camera. The latter is also particularly successful to the point of being for a time the best market in most of the review. Note 9 has everything you need where you need it and does not make any mistakes. Simply the best at the moment.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro

We could summarize the Mate 20 Pro as well – take all the high-end technologies in the industry, put them in a smartphone, shake and a little and that’s it.

huawe_mate_20_pro

Curved OLED screen on the side, facial recognition in 3D, impression sensor under the screen, lightning performance, battery above average and finally triple photo module that contains a wide-angle sensor – these are the main features of the last Huawei flagship, and we can say that they do fly, despite some slight misfires.

Apple iPhone XS Max

The Phone XS Max is a record-breaking, price, diagonal screen or battery; it pushes the limits in many ways. Good everywhere, provided you accept its size, it is a perfect machine to replace your iPhone 6/7/8 Plus.

Apple-iPhone-XS-Max

It will offer great photo and video performance never seen on iPhone, long battery life and superb display quality. A blow heart that should not forget the prohibitive tariff and in 256 GB, the version we recommend for more durability.

OnePlus 6T

Like last year, OnePlus is offering us this year end a ‘T’ version of its flagship spring. And like last year, the OnePlus 6T comes to correct the defects of its predecessor. The most significant improvement is at the level of the photo part, with finally a “Flagship Killer” which can really compete with the flagships on this point.

oneplus 6T

The 6T further reduces the notch to a minimum since we have only a single drop. The icing on the cake: an impression sensor hidden under the screen for an even more attractive design. A must have in this price range.

Honor Play

With its desire to offer a powerful smartphone tailored to meet the needs of players, the Honor Play surprises with its performance, its beautiful battery power, and its perfect finishes.

If the screen is somewhat flattering, Honor made some concessions on the photo part to offer the smartphone at a very aggressive price. We will note a dispensable AI and an honest photo rendering, nothing more. The Honor Play remains a recommendable machine with a substantial price vs. quality ratio.

Pocophone F1

After attacking the several markets under its own name, Xiaomi also goes through one of its subsidiaries: Pocophone. The first effort, the F1 that offers great performance while condensing the best price.

The smartphone embeds the most powerful chip on the market with a Snapdragon 845, but do not forget the other market essentials such as notch screen and dual photosensor in a simple but pleasant design. A successful test for this F1, well balanced and versatile, despite a compromise on the photo. It still dominates the mid-range.

Xiaomi Mi A2

After a Redmi Note 5 that was able to prevail unequivocally on the smartphone segment to less than 200 euros, Xiaomi returned with the Mi A2 in the same price range. His glorious cousin strongly inspires the latter, but this time with Android One in place of the overlay house MiUI.

The Mi A2 will thus make it easier to track Google’s updates with a more consensual interface than Xiaomi’s. At low prices, you cannot have everything, especially in the photo, but the rest of the features, including a Snapdragon 660, give it an excellent price-performance ratio.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5

For its arrival in the market in the traditional distribution channels, Xiaomi hits hard with this Redmi Note 5. Between a full HD + 6-inch screen, a dual photo sensor that is doing well in low light and Snapdragon 625 processor that offers a good fluidity to use, the datasheet of this smartphone sold for less than €200 is worthy of a phone of the higher range.

In addition to an aggressive price, the Redmi Note 5 is also a very good companion. The 4000 mAh battery provides nearly two days of use. The Redmi Note 5 is thus placed as one of the best possible purchases around 200 euros.
