The Beta Version of Android 9 Pie is Now Available in 9 Huawei Smartphones
Huawei opens its beta program based on Android 9 for 9 phones
It’s been three weeks since the official presentation of Android 9 Pie, and there are already several producers who are working on porting the new version of the green robot on their devices. Among these, apparently, Huawei could not be missing, and the closed beta started on some smartphones.
Huawei is proceeding with surprising speed – especially if we think about the past years – as regards the work to upgrade to Android 9.0 Pie of its devices and those with the Honor brand. In the last hours, the Chinese company has added nine models to the list of products on which they are already conducting internal tests for Android Pie, which could further speed up the work for the release of new software versions.
According to rumors from the Chinese site dedicated to beta ROMs, the Huawei Pollen Club, there will be nine Huawei and Honor smartphones affected by the program, which opened on August 28 with the recruitment phase. The lucky models that can be added to the list are Huawei Mate 10, Huawei Mate 10 Pro, Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design, Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design, Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Pro, Honor 10, Honor V10 and Honor Play, while there is no information related to other models.
For the time being, the new software versions in the test have not yet been released to the public, but can only be tested by some beta testers chosen by the company from September. It means that the first stable versions based on Android 9.0 Pie could arrive as early as October, but much will depend on the success of these tests and the response of beta testers.
Huawei will select a total of 1,500 lucky users so they can enjoy the beta version of the new operating system. It is an entirely experimental phase that aims to correct possible errors that may arise for a future official implementation of Android 9 Pie. The only negative aspect is that only users residing in China can access this version.
The listed devices will then receive Android 9 Pie with the custom interface EMUI 9.0 and should integrate the new gesture navigation system and other innovations introduced by Google. Remember, however, that the test should concern the Chinese versions of smartphones and that for international versions it will be necessary to wait a few more weeks.
