Realme U Officially Confirmed First Smartphone to Sport MediaTek Helio P70
The Realme U smartphone will be the first in the industry to make use of the latest Helio P70 SoC.
As anticipated a few days ago, the latest subsidiary of Oppo, Realme, will be the first brand to bring the new Mediatek Helio P70 processor to market, and will do so through its new ‘U’ line.
The confirmation comes through a tweet of Realme itself, which announces this new series of devices, just moved by the new Mediatek SoC, whose notoriety is now at high levels. In fact, there is hope that this processor will bring performance and consumption on another level compared to the previous medium-range processors of the brand.

Announced last October by MediaTek, the Helio P70 chipset hit the market with a promise to competently succeed its older brother, the Helio P60, bringing more performance and power, but with lower power consumption.
With recent rumors that the aforementioned U line of smartphones will be focused on selfies, it is expected that the new handsets will have artificial intelligence features already in the front camera, justifying the focus of the line and also the APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) of the new MediaTek chipset for AI tasks.
Bringing four ARM Cortex-A73 cores at a 2.1 GHz frequency and four ARM Cortex-A53 2.0 GHz cores, the Helio P70 opens the possibility for a 32 Megapixel camera or two 24 + 16 Megapixel cameras. It also has a mechanism built into the hardware for Electronic Image Stabilization.
Without further information on the new or new U-series device, it is expected that the battery of the handsets equipped with the chipset is better, since the new MediaTek SoC consumes up to 35% less energy when compared to its predecessor. The chip is manufactured in a 12nm architecture and is equipped with a Mali G72 GPU and promises to give work to completion.
