OnePlus 6T will be officially unveiled on Oct 29th

Everything we know so far about the OnePlus 6T

With all the hoopla surrounding Xiaomi’s latest Mi Mix 3 and gamer-focused Black Shark 2, it’s hard to be OnePlus right now. The battle for market share just got a whole lot harder, but don’t count them off yet. In a few days, the company will be unveiling its latest poster boy, the OnePlus 6T. And they have high hopes that the OnePlus 6T is going to help them survive the onslaught of premium yet affordable smartphones from Xiaomi.

I remember years ago when OnePlus was the undisputed king of “bang-for-the-buck” smartphones. Fast forward a few years later though, upstart Xiaomi started dishing out phones that used the same formula of quality and affordability—at even cheaper prices. All of a sudden, OnePlus seemed to have lost its firm grip on this particular segment of the market. Still, they still have a few tricks off their sleeves and they’re gonna reveal it in the form of the OnePlus 6T in the next few days.

The company will be unveiling their latest flagship on Oct 29. It will pack an AMOLED display at 6.4 inches at 1080p resolution. There’s a dual camera setup at the back (16-megapixel and 20-megapixel) plus a 16-megapixel selfie shooter on front. It’s expected to come with Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM, 128GB storage and will run Oxygen OS on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. Battery is pegged to be at 3700mAh, in-screen fingerprint sensor and it won’t come with a jack.

Looking at that spec sheet, one can’t help but realize that it’s essentially the same line-up of hardware that flagship phones from other companies already have. So what will make the OnePlus 6T a winner? To be honest, I don’t know. Looking at the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3’s ridiculous specs and looks, OnePlus better have something truly remarkable on their latest smartphone or else it will simply catch some early sparks but will fail to maintain the flames of interest in the long run. The rumored price increase from the previous version doesn’t help its case either.

All eyes will be on the OnePlus 6T event happening on Oct 29. Stay tuned here for updates as we give you the the latest from OnePlus and their newest flagship.
