Huawei Mate 20 – Let’s Start the Rumor Mill
Huawei Mate 20 will be a flagship smartphone with features good enough to provide a stiff competition to other flagships
The first half of the year is not yet over, as it starts with the rumors about the Huawei Mate 20. Depending on how fast the Internet is spreading speculation and photos of Huawei Mate 20, we could easily begin to believe that its launch is imminent. Some reports claim that Mate 20 could arrive in the summer, but skeptics say that just before the autumn, the phone will be out of the question.
Either way, we have another picture of the phone that matches what we could see a week ago and actually copies the schematic layout. According to the latest Slashleaks leak, it’s obvious that the top-notch above the display is missing and the phone would come with a borderless design. According to the source, the screen will occupy about 93% of the front surface. The top and the upper frame where the sensors, the camera, and the handset are stored.
Just above the 18:9 screen, there would be a double front camera, positioned together with the headset and a whole series of sensors that let us assume the presence of 3D facial recognition. At the bottom, there is only the Huawei logo so that the fingerprint reader could be integrated into the display. However, we may be looking at a technology to unlock facial, after all, this feature has been seen in several smartphones lately.
As the phone leak shows the design similar to its predecessors from the Mate series, they are tall and relatively narrow. Huawei Mate 20 has even passed the Antutu test, but it was most likely just a prototype. It also scored a high score of 356,918 points. The device has been tested with the Kirin 980 processor, and if the final device is actually fitted with this chip, it will crush all the top models of this year.
We do not have much information on the panel, but Samsung could provide that so it could be an OLED or Super AMOLED display of about 6.9 inches diagonal. The heart of Huawei Mate 10 would be the new Kirin 980 with Octa-Core processor supported by 6 GB of RAM and at least 128 GB of internal memory.
In reality, there should be more versions up to a maximum of 512 GB. Huawei Mate 20 should be the first Huawei device ready for the 5G and the second to be equipped with a triple rear camera. The lenses are expected to be Leica lenses, and one of the three sensors will be the Sony IMX-600.
Huawei Mate 20 is getting closer to its debut. The smartphone could be presented in the month of October. Anyway, there is no room for some hurried conclusions, because there is plenty of time left for the phone to be released, so we’d rather wait for more information that might be more accurate.
