Honor Magic 2 Reveals a Design Evoking Oppo and Huawei
It is in a couple of days that Honor will officially present the Honor Magic 2. But the firm keeps showing its new smartphone on Asian social networks.
If you follow the news related to the world of the smartphone, you already had to hear about Magic 2. The last flagship of Honor will be unveiled on October 31 and promises a lot. New official pictures published on the Chinese social network Weibo allow us to observe its specifications better.
As a reminder, this would be the iteration of a first Honor Magic that already wanted to focus on a different design, something far from that firm highway to the infinite screen where it seems to drive the Magic 2 and at high speeds.
Honor is very present on social networks (including Weibo), publishing several images or teaser videos of the phone that has already been quickly shown at IFA 2018. We see a completely borderless smartphone with a sliding mechanism, like the Oppo Find X, and a triple rear photo module arranged like that of the Huawei P20 Pro.
Furthermore, Magic 2 contains an aspect that many smartphone designers desperately want: a body-display ratio of almost 100%. Yes, thanks to the telescopic camera, the top of the screen is free of notch or bar; all sensors and cameras are incorporated in the sliding section.
The Magic 2 gets a sturdy 6.4-inch AMOLED display and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, we also find a Kirin 980 chipset (like in the Mate 20 Pro), 8GB RAM, 128GB storage and a 3,400mAh battery.
The front camera looks
Spinning with this so obvious frontal assumption, one of the most striking features of the mobile is its removable module for cameras. We already saw this because the announcement of the device and the first teaser was already seen, but what has now been known are the sensors that will integrate the triple camera of the Honor Magic 2 and the front that will appear with that mobile module.
The rear cameras would be composed of the main sensor of 16 megapixels for the main camera, a secondary one of 24 megapixels and a third one also 16 megapixels. It is possible to think that the utility of the same ones is the couple that we saw with the Mate 20 Pro to have a 3X optical zoom and a super wide angle.
Just as it would come with the new processor, what would probably be the last Honor range top would come with the latest version of the house’s software layer, EMUI 9.0.0. It would dress an Android 9 Pie, with the aesthetic change and apps that the Huawei layer applies to the Google system with artificial intelligence. In addition, there would be a new virtual assistant that they referred to as ‘Yoyo’ in the teaser.
The Honor Magic 2 will compete directly with Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 3 released last week, both of them flagships in their respective product line, with nearly full-coverage but unusually notch-free displays on the front.
On October 31, Honor will showcase Magic 2 with a silver, a blue, and a red, all in the popular Twilight gradient look.
