Recording capabilities and video quality
You probably won’t find such small camera anywhere that can record at 1920 x 1080 px and at 30 frames per second. Videos look clear and detailed and are similar to those that you can shot with at least 5.0MP smartphone camera. Movies include a timestamp to confirm the time they were recorded. Thanks to 2 IR diodes, Quelima SQ12 can even record videos at night with reasonable quality. The 200 mAh battery has working time of about 60 hours and can be charged in 2 hours.
Control and assembly
Since there is no touchscreen like in larger sports cameras, you can’t directly browse recordings. Instead, SQ12 supports the so-called loop recording, which means that it saves videos continuously and overwrites old files when the space is running out. Data is stored on a TF card up to 32GB, and movies can be transferred to other devices via a MicroUSB cable. Unfortunately, there is no WiFi, so you can’t transfer files wirelessly.
Box includes two holders and clips that will allow you to mount the camera on any surface. Cleverly designed holder makes it possible to rotate the camera at 360 degrees, so it’s easy to set up. You can attach the holder with screws to the wall in literally 5 minutes – it’s easy and you won’t need any special tools.
You can mount this mini recorder in your car, at home, or even use it as an action camera or for taking pictures outdoors. The only significant con is the lack of WiFi capability for file transfer and remote control with the smartphone, but its inclusion would took the toll on a small battery and would increase overall size. All in all, Quelima SQ12 has great capabilities at a miniature price!
